Cafeteria Plan
This plan allows an employee to designate the payroll deductions for certain employee-paid insurances to be deducted from pre-tax compensation rather than from after-tax pay. If you participate in any of the insurances listed below, you are eligible to designate them under the Cafeteria Plan thus realizing a lower tax liability and higher take-home pay. Enrollment is renewable January 1 of each year.
Cafeteria Plan Insurances are:
- Medical Coverage
- Life Coverage
- Long-Term Disability
- Dental Coverage
- Vision Coverage
- Spousal Coverage
Employees enrolled in this plan cannot change or revoke this benefit election or compensation reduction agreement as of any date prior to the next January 1, unless he/she has a change in family status (i.e. marriage, divorce, death of a spouse or child, birth or adoption of a child, termination of employment of a spouse and such other events as the Plan administrator determines will permit a change or revocation of an election under regulations and rulings of the Internal Revenue Service).
A Cafeteria Plan election form must be submitted annually in order to maintain your participation in the Muncie Community Schools Cafeteria Plan.
