Supplemental Educational Services

Student Selection and Provider Information

Students who attend a Title I school that is in improvement status are eligible for tutoring services outside of their regular school day.  MCS schools that are Title I schools in improvement status are Longfellow Elementary, South View Elementary, and Sutton Elementary.  Students in these schools are eligible for Supplemental Educational Services if:

·         The student receives free/reduced lunch benefits

·         The student is “non-proficient” according to one or more of the following assessments:

o        ISTEP+

o        MClass Benchmark

o        Acuity Benchmark

o        Terra Nova

Because there are limited resources available to pay for these services, eligible students may be “wait listed” if the number of eligible students who choose to participate in SES exceeds the district’s capacity to pay for these services.

Parents can learn more about providers at the Vendor Fairs that will be held at each elementary school in the fall.  Once parents select a provider, and the necessary paperwork is completed and submitted, SES services can begin.
