School Closings and Delays
Muncie Community Schools makes every effort to notify school families in the event of school closings or a two-hour delay to the start of the school day. If school is canceled or delayed, we will utilize Honeywell Instant Alert, our phone and email notification system, and our school website, www.muncie.k12.in.us, and our Facebook to notify families. In addition, information will be sent to our local radio stations and the Star Press. The Indianapolis television stations also will be notified.
Message From the Principal
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break. We are very excited about the New Year. Our older students continue to excel as they
prepare for ISTEP, and our younger students are growing at an amazing rate with
their grade level assessments! As the
weather becomes colder please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for
the weather. If you are in need of a
coat, gloves or hat please contact the school office. Attendance is crucial for student
success. Please notify the office if your
child is unable to attend school. If you
are looking for a way to get involved in your child’s education,
the PTO is always looking for volunteers.
PTO meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 in the
library. Child care is usually provided for
school age children. As always, feel
free to stop by the school office or contact us if you have any questions.
