A Note From Our Principal, Mrs. Miller
Dear South View Families,
Welcome Spring! I am so happy to see the nice weather return for our students here at South View. The fresh air and warm sun is going to allow for great learning opportunities!
We have many upcoming events at South View including the start of ISTEP round 2 the first week of April 18th. Please help make sure your child is ready for ISTEP by providing them with breakfast, either at school or at home, and making sure your child arrives to school on time.
Our fantastic PTO is working hard to support our school, students and teachers. I urge you to consider becoming involved with the PTO. Our next meeting time will be May 11th at 3:30pm in the South View cafeteria.
Just a reminder that the Open Door Mobile Health Unit is at South View every Thursday from 8:30am-11:30am. If you have not filled out the paperwork for your child to be able to utilize this mobile unit please stop in the office today to pick up the needed paperwork.
Thank you to all the South View families for your support and encouragement of all of our students!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me.
Sincerely — Mrs. Kara Miller

School Closings and Delays
Muncie Community Schools makes every effort to notify school families in the event of school closings or a two-hour delay to the start of the school day. If school is canceled or delayed, we will utilize Honeywell Instant Alert, our phone and email notification system, and our school website, www.muncie.k12.in.us, and our Facebook to notify families. In addition, information will be sent to our local radio stations and the Star Press. The Indianapolis television stations also will be notified.
Visiting South View Elementary
All visitors must report to the office upon entering the building. All classroom visits must be scheduled in advance with the classroom teacher. If you need to see a teacher, it is usually best to schedule a conference before or after school.
If you are interested in volunteering during the day or at school events, contact Parent Volunteer Coordinator, Wilma Underhill, at 747-5226.
