Home of the All-Stars!

prepare for the 2016-2017 school year and they, along with the rest of the
staff are eager to embark on another year of great opportunities.
academic excellence at West View, we will continue using the 8-Step process. As
a teaching staff, we will continue to collect academic data on each student
throughout the year and use that information to provide not only tiered
intervention to students who demonstrate a need, but also enrichment to
students who will benefit from increased rigor.
In looking at behavioral expectations, the faculty and staff will be
implementing our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) plan. This plan includes behavioral expectations
which have been set by the staff as well as lessons that will be taught by the
teachers and staff throughout the year to meet these high standards. Just as 8-Step provides academic support,

students. We can now teach to the whole
I have no
doubt that as we work together this school year, we will see amazing growth in
all of our students. As always, please
call, email or stop by with any questions or concerns.
West View Elementary Mission Statement
West View Elementary School will provide a learning environment in which student feel valued and empowered to become self-directed life-long learners. Students will be prepared to meet the challenges of future educational pursuits and to take their place in society as productive, knowledgeable, and responsible citizens. Through collaboration with teachers, parents, school district personnel, and the community at large, we will provide experiences and resources which will foster achievement and enable students to attain maximum success.
School Closings and Delays
Muncie Community Schools makes every effort to notify school families in the event of school closings or a two-hour delay to the start of the school day. If school is canceled or delayed, we will utilize Honeywell Instant Alert, our phone and email notification system, and our school website, www.muncie.k12.in.us, and our Facebook to notify families. In addition, information will be sent to our local radio stations and the Star Press. The Indianapolis television stations also will be notified.
