Strategic Direction
When the historic partnership between Muncie Community Schools and Ball State University began in the summer of 2018, leadership from both organizations began strategizing on moving the school district forward. The end result is the district's Academic Innovation and Financial Viability Plan, unveiled in June, 2020. The plan incorporates two foundational principles - 1) Culturally Responsive Practices and 2) Continuous, Aligned & Strategic Professional Learning - and five operational pillars.
Incorporated into this plan is a five-year Strategic Plan that will guide the MCS Board, CEO, administrators, teachers and staff in making critical decisions and implementing the strategies that will propel the district into the future and provide MCS learners with the high-quality, community-based, cradle-to-career education they deserve. Both of these documents (and the Academic Plan Executive Summary) can be downloaded and read in detail by clicking below.
