Strategic Direction

When the historic partnership between Muncie Community Schools and Ball State University began in the summer of 2018, leadership from both organizations began strategizing on moving the school district forward. The end result was the district's Academic Innovation and Financial Viability Plan, unveiled in June, 2020. The plan incorporated two foundational principles (Culturally Responsive Practices and Continuous, Aligned & Strategic Professional Learning) and five operational pillars.
Incorporated into this plan was a five-year Strategic Plan that guided the MCS Board, CEO, administrators, teachers and staff in making critical decisions and implementing strategies on providing high-quality, community-based, cradle-to-career education to students from 2020-2025. Beginning in the fall of 2025, MCS embarked on a new three-year Strategic Plan, which essentially builds on everything created and implemented over the previous five years. A downlaodable version of this plan is available directly below:
