Communications

Muncie Community Schools makes every effort to keep MCS staff, families and stakeholders informed of all important events, programs and policies occurring in our schools. The Communications department is responsible for a variety of activities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Notifying families about school closings and delays
  • Updating information on the MCS website
  • Posting news and events on social media
  • Responding to media inquiries
  • Processing public records requests
  • Producing content that helps tell the MCS story

MCS is comprised of 10 schools, 5,000 students and 550 employees. There are great things happening in our schools every day. Share a Story

The 86th annual Muncie Community Sing is Sunday, December 4 beginning at 2:45 p.m. at the Muncie Fieldhouse. This year's "Sing," in-person for the first time since 2019, includes WLBC's Steve Lindell as emcee. We hope you will come enjoy the sounds of the season as performed by MCS band, choirs, cheerleaders, color guard and the Hillcroft Choir. Click here for a program preview.  The Community Sing will be broadcast on WIPB-TV on Christmas Day at 11 a.m.
