Educational Data and Outcomes

The Muncie Community Schools Educational Data & Outcomes (EDO) team provides data-informed decision support across MCS departments, buildings, and partners. In addition to coordinating MCS State Accountability and Reporting processes, the EDO develops and maintains: 

• Building-level administrative dashboards, Master Teacher resources, and End-of-Year Reports
• Community and Out of School Time (After School) Partner Data support
• Cradle to Career Muncie Data Facilitation and Strategic Planning

The EDO confirms and facilitates FERPA and privacy compliance for MCS data analysis and sharing partners to ensure that student and family data is always appropriately protected. 

Established in 2023 through the support of the Muncie Community Schools and the George & Frances Ball Foundation. The team is built around a core concept of empowering Muncie with data infrastructure, integration, and analysis to support student success.  

Life within Muncie is not limited to single schools, organizations, or neighborhoods, which makes insight and development uniquely collaborative. The EDO serves as a local data analysis and governance steward, which protects individual privacy while also supporting out-of-school time partners and community development. We do this through ongoing efforts to support effective data governance and enablement within MCS and partner organizations.

The Data Team represents a unique embedded data enablement strategy that produces visualizations, dashboards, and data infrastructure for numerous partners. If you're interested in following or engaging with our work, please reach out via our Partner with the EDO form. 

1. Muncie Community Schools "About Us" pages - Each MCS School's enrollment, student demographics, and special program information are available via the School "About Us" pages. 
2. Out of School Time Partner Supports - In order for afterschool literacy and learning supports to coordinate with building resources, the EDO sustains partner dashboards that securely communicate student learning needs across ELA, Math, Behavioral, and Attendance domains. 
3. Cradle to Career Muncie - The MCS Strategic Plan is uniquely integrated into the Cradle to Career Muncie collaborative action networks. The EDO collects and disseminates this information in variety of reports, dashboards, and deliverables across the community. This activity includes initiatives from Birth-to-PreK, ELA/Math, Work-Based Learning, Postsecondary Education Success, and Career Success.
