Board of Trustees

Muncie Community Schools (MCS) is governed by a seven-member board, five of whom are recommended by the Ball State University president and appointed by the BSU Board of Trustees, and two recommended by the Mayor of Muncie and the Muncie City-County Council and appointed by the BSU president. This board guides MCS administration on the district's cradle-to-career approach to public education. With a vision of “Placing Learners First,” the board closely collaborates with Ball State University, Muncie leaders, MCS families and community-based foundations and businesses to prepare all learners, regardless of background or circumstance, to succeed in college, career and life.
